Karelia-Upofloor Oy manufactures hardwood floorings in four production facilities in Finland, Russia and Rumania. An industry pioneer then and now Already in the 1950s Upofloor (then called Kymarno Oy) was a pioneer in plastic floorings in Finland. Our company was founded in order to offer the Finnish market an innovative product that was catching on around the world: plastic floorings. Today we are a full-service flooring supplier in Finland and a growing supplier of floorings for public premises in our export markets. Our guiding operating principle is to systematically expand our offerings in advanced and ecological floorings. Since 2000 Upofloor has regained its position as one of the leading pioneers in floorings. As a result of our long-term and intensive R&D activities, we introduced in 2004 our PVC- and plasticizer-free LifeLineTM collection of floor coverings designed especially for public premises. Our R&D activities have paid special attention to the increased awareness of the importance of floor coverings for ensuring clean indoor air, as well as the increased demand for construction materials that support the principle of sustainable development. LifeLine represents a globally unique product that has expanded to an entirely halogen-free product family. At the same time the markets for this product family have expanded to Central Europe and the USA. |
